What distinguishes Mashru and Himroo fabrics is that they are made from silk and cotton, producing a finished product which looks like satin. The silk and cotton used fro creating mashru and himroo handicrafts are cultivated in Aurangabad. These luxurious fabrics are primarily made for them nobles and royal families. The Himroo is locally known as ‘Kam Khuab’ which means a small dream. The word Mashru means legal. Mashru is mainly used as an undergarment by ladies, for it is considered cheaper than Himroo fabric.

Mashru weaving process is done by weaving silk for the wrap and cotton is weaved for the rest. An estimated length for each wrap is 63 yards, which is designed as the first phase.
